You don’t need an HR monitor when doing the instructor course, but it is always good to monitor your heart rate when you are training with intensity so you can guide your riders to the appropriate heart rate zones in the classes you teach.

Collective On Demand is a web based application, so you can easily use your phone, tablet or computer.

Yes, you can do the online theoretical components of the course whilst you are injured, as there are no requirements to exercise as part of the learning.
